Description

The Ray91 is Raymarine's modular black-box VHF radio with an integrated AIS receiver. The main transceiver mounts out of sight, while control is via a supplied wired handset, allowing a clean helm and flexible multi-station operation with up to three handsets and wireless handset options.

The Ray91 includes full Class D Digital Selective Calling (DSC) and a built-in AIS receiver so nearby AIS-equipped vessels are shown on connected Raymarine displays. It connects over NMEA 2000 / SeaTalkng and NMEA 0183, sharing AIS, GPS and DSC data across the system, and supports intercom and hailer functions. This version is supplied with a wired handset and a passive speaker.

The modular approach makes the Ray91 ideal for larger vessels and flybridge installations where VHF control is needed at more than one station.

What is a modular black-box VHF radio?
In a modular VHF radio such as the Ray91, the main transceiver is a black box mounted out of sight, and you operate the radio from one or more handsets. This keeps the helm clean and allows VHF control from several stations on larger vessels.
Does the Ray91 transmit AIS?
No. The Ray91 has a built-in AIS receiver, so it shows nearby AIS vessels, but it does not transmit your own AIS position. Add a Raymarine AIS700 transceiver if you need to transmit.
How many handsets does the Ray91 support?
The Ray91 supports multiple stations using wired handsets and, where supported, wireless handsets, so you can control the radio from more than one position on board.
