Description
The Actisense NGW-1 is an intelligent bi-directional gateway that converts NMEA 0183 data into NMEA 2000 and vice versa, allowing instruments built to the two standards to share information on the same boat. It lets you add a modern NMEA 2000 or Raymarine SeaTalkng backbone while keeping existing NMEA 0183 devices, spreading the cost of upgrading.
The standard ISO variant connects to NMEA 0183 devices through a dedicated transmit and receive pair, with opto-isolated input and Actisense ISO-Drive output to protect connected equipment from ground loops. Power is taken directly from the NMEA 2000 network, so no separate supply is needed, and multiple NGW-1 units can be used to multiplex several NMEA 0183 signals onto the network. This is a third-party Actisense product carried by Raymarine; an optional STNG-A06045 adaptor cable connects it directly to a Raymarine SeaTalkng network.
