A universal default program that is safe for most battery types is also provided, along with a dedicated program for vessels running voltage-sensitive halogen equipment. On start-up the regulator gently ramps the alternator up to full bulk voltage, then steps down through absorption and float for a complete, controlled charge.\n\nAlongside its preset battery programs, the MC-624 offers a wealth of advanced programming modes so charging can be tailored to almost any environment, all accessible through the supplied magnetic programming tool. When used with the optional MC-TS-A alternator and MC-TS-B battery temperature sensors, the regulator monitors ambient temperature and reduces or discontinues charging should a catastrophic over-temperature condition occur at the alternator or the batteries. It also features Balmar's Belt Load Manager for limiting field output to protect drive belts.
