Description
The Victron Argofet Battery Isolator 100A charges three independent battery banks from a single alternator or charger while keeping all three fully isolated from one another. Discharging one bank, such as a domestic service battery, will not draw down the others, so the engine start battery is always protected and ready.
Unlike diode isolators, the Argofet uses FET (field-effect transistor) technology with virtually no voltage loss: the drop is under 0.02 V at low current and averages just 0.1 V at higher currents. Because there is almost no drop, there is no need to raise the alternator output voltage, so charging stays accurate and batteries reach a full state of charge. A current-limited alternator energize input supplies B+ when the engine run switch is closed, so machine-sensing alternators start charging reliably.
The isolator adjusts automatically to 12 V or 24 V systems and needs no maintenance. M8 bolt connections and a compact enclosure suit marine, motorhome and off-grid installations where up to three banks share one charge source without the losses of a diode splitter.
