Description

The Victron BatteryProtect 12/24V 65A disconnects the battery from non-essential loads before it is completely discharged, protecting the bank from damaging deep discharge and preserving enough reserve to crank the engine. It suits marine, off-grid and vehicle installations where a low-voltage load disconnect is needed.

The unit detects a 12V or 24V system automatically and is set up with a seven-segment LED display, which shows the chosen engage and disengage threshold at a glance. A dedicated Li-ion setting lets the device be controlled by a VE.Bus BMS, and it can also serve as a charge interrupter between a charger and a lithium battery.

Solid-state MOSFET switching makes the BatteryProtect ignition proof, with no relays and no sparks. Delayed alarm, load-disconnect and reconnect timing means that briefly cranking the engine will not trip the protection unnecessarily.

PRODUCT DETAILS

What does the BatteryProtect do?
It automatically disconnects non-essential loads when the battery voltage drops to a preset level, preventing deep discharge that would damage the battery and preserving enough charge to start the engine.
Does this model have Bluetooth?
No. This is the standard BatteryProtect, set up with a seven-segment LED display and a programming pin. For Bluetooth programming via the VictronConnect app, choose the Smart BatteryProtect.
Can I use it with lithium batteries?
Yes. It has a dedicated Li-ion setting and can be controlled by a VE.Bus BMS. It can also act as a charge interrupter between a charger and a lithium battery.
Will cranking the engine trip the protection?
No. The load-disconnect is delayed by 90 seconds and the alarm by 12 seconds, so a brief voltage dip during engine start does not disconnect the load.
Can it handle current from a charger as well as to a load?
No. The BatteryProtect is a uni-directional device and is not designed for reverse currents from charging sources. Current flows from the battery terminal to the load terminal only.
