Description

The Victron Smart BatteryProtect 12/24V 65A disconnects the battery from non-essential loads before it is completely discharged, protecting the bank from damaging deep discharge and preserving enough reserve to crank the engine. It can also double as a system on/off switch, and suits marine, off-grid and vehicle installations where a programmable low-voltage load disconnect is needed. This unit is offered from clearance stock at a reduced price; it is the same product as the standard Smart BatteryProtect 12/24V 65A.

Built-in Bluetooth lets you set any required engage and disengage levels from the VictronConnect app, or you can select one of nine predefined levels with the programming pin. Instant Readout shows key status, warnings and alarms in the app without pairing, and Bluetooth can be disabled if preferred. A dedicated Li-ion mode allows control by a VE.Bus BMS, and the unit can act as a charge interrupter ahead of a lithium battery.

Solid-state MOSFET switching makes the Smart BatteryProtect ignition proof, with no relays and no sparks. Delayed alarm, load-disconnect and reconnect timing means that briefly cranking the engine will not trip the protection unnecessarily.

Is this the same as the standard Smart BatteryProtect 12/24V 65A?
Yes. It is identical to the standard product and is offered here from clearance stock at a reduced price.
How is the Smart BatteryProtect programmed?
Over Bluetooth using the free VictronConnect app, where you can set any required engage and disengage levels. Alternatively, one of nine predefined levels can be selected with the programming pin.
Can the Bluetooth be turned off?
Yes. Bluetooth can be disabled in VictronConnect if you do not want it active.
Can I use it with lithium batteries?
Yes. It has a dedicated Li-ion mode and can be controlled by a VE.Bus BMS. It can also act as a charge interrupter between a charger and a lithium battery.
Will cranking the engine trip the protection?
No. The load-disconnect is delayed by 90 seconds and the alarm by 12 seconds, so a brief voltage dip during engine start does not disconnect the load.
Can it handle current from a charger as well as to a load?
No. It is a uni-directional device and is not designed for reverse currents from charging sources. In a load application the battery connects to the IN terminal.
