Description
The Victron Cyrix-Li-ct 12/24-230 is an intelligent battery combiner for lithium systems, a microprocessor controlled relay that parallels a lead acid starter battery and a Victron LiFePO4 battery for charging and isolates them again when needed. Its function is analogous to the standard Cyrix-ct, but it takes its command from a Victron VE.Bus BMS so the lithium battery is fully protected.
Rated at 230 A continuous for larger banks and high output alternators, it engages when the BMS charge disconnect output is high and it senses a charge voltage of 13.4 V (26.8 V on a 24 V system) on one of its terminals. It disengages immediately if the BMS signals a cell over voltage or over temperature, or if the battery voltage drops below 13.2 V, keeping the LiFePO4 cells within their safe operating window. A bicolour status LED reports the relay state and a one metre control cable is supplied. A built in transient voltage suppressor absorbs the spike that can occur when the relay opens suddenly.
The unit is designed for 12 V and 24 V systems and includes a Start Assist function, where a short negative pulse closes the relay for 30 seconds for emergency parallel starting. It must be used with a Victron VE.Bus BMS (or miniBMS) and Victron lithium batteries.
