Description
The EGIS 500A sealed contactor remotely switches high-current engine and auxiliary circuits, eliminating long cable runs to manual switches and reducing both installation cost and weight. The hermetically sealed housing keeps dust and moisture out, and high-temperature materials with stainless steel self-locking hardware suit installation almost anywhere on a vehicle or vessel, including engine compartments.
It carries 500A continuously and supports a 9 to 36 Vdc control voltage, while the contacts handle switching voltages up to 48V and beyond. High interrupt capability allows the contactor to safely open in a locked-starter situation of up to 1,500A at 14 Vdc, and it is ignition protected to ISO-8846 and UL 1500 for safe use in closed compartments where explosive gases may be present.
