Description

The EGIS 160 A single relay is a sealed TH3 series device that replaces a mechanical battery switch with an electrical relay wired inline between a battery and the loads it feeds. By moving the switching point closer to the battery it reduces voltage drop and the cost of long battery cables, while supporting simple battery charge management when the control line is connected to an engine ignition feed and straightforward system connect or disconnect. It extends TH Series ACR capability where extra current capacity is needed or an additional independent, isolated battery bank has to be brought online.

Installation is simple and robust. A sealed Molex MX-150 plug and harness with 2 ft control wires is supplied, and an optional output busbar lets the relay connect neatly to RT or CT series fuse blocks. The unit is fully sealed and built from high-temperature materials so it can be mounted almost anywhere, secured with stainless steel self-locking hardware, and integral diode suppression reduces voltage spikes on the control lines during switching. This single-output model carries 160 A continuously and 240 A intermittently across an 8 to 18 volt range; where two independent outputs are required, see the 7422 dual-output models.

Can this relay replace a mechanical battery switch?
Yes. The TH3 relay is designed to replace a mechanical battery switch with an electrical relay wired inline between a battery and the loads it feeds, which reduces voltage drop and the cost of long battery cables.
What connector does this variant use?
This variant is fitted with a Deutsch DT/AT output connector, an industry standard for marine and commercial vehicle use, in place of the standard Molex MX-150 output. A control harness with 2 ft control wires is included.
Is this a single or dual output relay?
This is a single-output relay rated at 160 A continuous and 240 A intermittent. If you need two independent isolated outputs, the 7422 models provide a dual split output of two 80 A circuits.
Does it protect the control circuit during switching?
Yes. Integral diode suppression reduces voltage spikes on the control lines during switching, and the unit is fully sealed for reliable operation.
