Description

The EGIS 7618 is a TH3-Series universal voltage sensing relay (VSR) rated at 160A continuous for 12V electrical systems. It automatically combines a start and auxiliary battery when alternator or charge voltage is detected and isolates them when charging stops, ensuring starting and communications capability are protected. A single device can be configured as a voltage sensing relay, a battery management relay, a low voltage disconnect or a simple relay, triggered by an external ignition signal, alternator voltage sense, or both, with adjustable voltage and low-voltage protection thresholds.

An industry-low off-state current draw of just 1.3mA eliminates vehicle downtime caused by dead batteries during extended stand-by. An optional off time delay of up to 16 hours, a start-isolation or kill-switch control input, and integrated thermal-overload protection add flexibility and safety, while on-board and remote LED diagnostics report output status and pending off events. The sealed enclosure uses high-temperature materials and stainless-steel self-locking hardware so it can be mounted almost anywhere, and a Molex MX-150 integral connector with a two-foot ground and ignition harness is included for rapid, correct field wiring.

What operating modes does the 7618 support?
The 7618 is a universal device that can be configured as a voltage sensing relay (VSR), a battery management relay, a low voltage disconnect, or a simple relay. The mode and trigger options are selected using the top-side dip switches.
How does the relay decide when to combine batteries?
It senses charge voltage and can be triggered by an external ignition signal, by alternator voltage sense, or by both. The voltage trigger levels and low-voltage protection thresholds are adjustable via dip switches, and ignition input priority can be set.
What is the off-state current draw?
The 7618 has an industry-low off-state current draw of just 1.3mA, which prevents batteries from being drained during extended stand-by and helps eliminate dead-battery downtime.
Can I add a kill switch or emergency off?
Yes. The 7618 has a start-isolation and kill-switch control input that lets service technicians or an emergency-off circuit force the relay off, which also protects sensitive add-on equipment from engine cranking voltage fluctuations.
