Description

This dual-circuit XD relay brings NMEA 2000 control to high-current switching, letting a compatible multifunction display operate each relay and monitor both switch status and battery voltage across the network. Control is flexible: the relays respond to NMEA 2000 commands or to discrete analogue inputs, so the unit fits both networked and conventional helms. Built on the XD bi-stable solenoid platform, it carries 500 A continuous and up to 1,600 A cranking per switch, and it can share charging across two batteries while isolating them when no charge source is present, eliminating dead start batteries.

Each relay has its own three-position manual override knob to force it open or closed and lock the state, with a front-facing LED that is mirrored on an optional remote LED. Connection is through a sealed 8-position DT plug, and the relay functions are tailored using the DIP switches under the protective cover. The case is sealed to IP67 and IP6K9K with an integrated Gore-Tex vent and stainless steel studs, and the unit can be expanded with 8790 and 8791 link bars to build larger two and three battery systems.

How is this relay controlled?
It can be operated over the NMEA 2000 network from a compatible multifunction display, or through discrete analogue inputs, giving flexibility for both digital-switching and conventional helms.
What information does it report over NMEA 2000?
It reports each switch status and battery voltage to the network, so they can be displayed and monitored on a compatible MFD.
Does the standby draw differ from the standard XD relays?
Yes. Because it stays awake on the NMEA 2000 bus, its standby current is 15 mA, higher than the 1.3 mA of the non-networked XD relays.
Which connector does it use?
This model uses a sealed 8-position DT connector. A NMEA 2000 drop cable and the mating harness are ordered separately.
