Description

The EGIS XD Flex 1 is a single-circuit, multi-mode bi-stable relay for 12V and 24V DC systems that can be configured as a simple switched relay, an automatic charging relay that combines two battery banks while a charge source is present, or a low-voltage disconnect that sheds loads to protect a battery. It carries 500A continuously and up to 1500A during cranking across an 8 to 36V DC operating range, replacing several discrete devices with one compact module.

Construction is sealed to IP67 and IP6K9K with high-temperature electronics, an integrated Gortex vent and stainless steel cable-lug studs that accept 1/4-20 or M6 hardware. The bi-stable solenoid draws just 1.3mA in the off state, and the chosen mode is set through dip switches under an included protective cover. A 3-position manual override knob lets the relay be forced open or closed and locked there, while a front-facing LED reports status with a remote LED replica output. This version uses a sealed Deutsch DTM connector that is pin-for-pin compatible with legacy ML-Series bi-stable relays.

What functions can this Flex 1 relay perform?
It is a single multi-mode relay that can be configured via dip switches to act as a basic switched relay, an automatic charging relay (ACR) that combines two battery banks while charging, or a low-voltage disconnect (LVD) that sheds loads to protect a battery.
What type of connector does it use?
It uses a sealed Deutsch DTM connector for its control wiring, which is pin-for-pin compatible with legacy ML-Series bi-stable relays for straightforward replacement. Main power lands on stainless steel cable-lug studs.
What voltage systems and current does it support?
It operates across 8 to 36V DC, suiting both 12V and 24V systems, and is rated for 500A continuous current with up to 1500A during engine cranking.
What does the manual override knob do?
The 3-position front-facing knob lets you force the relay open or closed manually and leave it locked in either state, with clear visual confirmation of the forced condition.
