Description

The XD programmable low voltage disconnect relay protects starting capacity by shedding non-essential loads the moment battery voltage falls to a configurable set-point, eliminating the weak-start and no-start conditions that result from an exhausted main battery. Built on the XD bi-stable solenoid platform, it switches 500 A continuously and up to 1,500 A cranking while drawing just 1.3 mA in the off state, and a front-facing LED reports relay status with optional remote LED replication. The low voltage cut-out point is set quickly using the DIP switches under the protective cover, with a configuration guide printed on the reverse.

This version ships with tinned flying wires and no manual override knob, making it ideal for permanent OEM installations where lever-free operation is preferred. The case is sealed to IP67 and IP6K9K with high-temperature electronics and an integrated Gore-Tex vent, so it withstands harsh marine and mobile environments, while stainless steel studs and large 1/4-20 / M6 mounting holes keep installation straightforward. A protective terminal cover and a 40-circuit waterproof label sheet are included, and the relay can be expanded with 8790 and 8791 link bars alongside other XD units.

What problem does a low voltage disconnect solve?

How is the disconnect voltage set?
