Description

The Victron EV Charging Station is a high-power AC electric-vehicle charger that delivers up to 22 kW in three-phase mode or 7.3 kW in single-phase mode through a Type 2 (IEC 62196) socket. A built-in 4.3-inch LCD touch screen gives on-unit monitoring and control, alongside a fully programmable RGB light ring around the charging port that shows the charger state at a glance.

It is designed to work as part of a Victron system. Setup, configuration and monitoring are handled through VictronConnect over Bluetooth and through the integrated web interface via a WiFi access point or a WiFi LAN. Fully integrated with a Victron GX device and the VRM Portal, it can be controlled and monitored remotely, with real-time and custom reports available over any period.

Three working modes cover most needs. Manual mode sets a fixed charge current between 6 and 32 A, adjustable from the LCD slider or the web page. Automatic mode detects surplus solar power and charges the vehicle with that excess only, maximising self-consumption. Scheduled mode charges at chosen times, for example overnight when grid energy is cheaper. It is covered by Victron's standard five-year warranty.

How much power does the EV Charging Station deliver?
It delivers a maximum of 22 kW in three-phase mode or 7.3 kW in single-phase mode, with the output current configurable between 6 and 32 A per phase.
Does it have a display?
Yes. It has a built-in 4.3-inch LCD touch screen for monitoring and control, so you can start and stop charging and adjust the current directly on the unit as well as through the web interface.
Can it charge my car using only surplus solar power?
Yes. In Automatic mode the charging station detects when excess PV power is available and uses only that surplus to charge the vehicle, maximising self-consumption from your solar system.
How is the charging station controlled and monitored?
Through the built-in LCD touch screen, VictronConnect over Bluetooth, and the integrated web interface over WiFi. When paired with a Victron GX device it can also be controlled and monitored remotely through the GX display and the VRM Portal.
What connector does it use?
It has a Type 2 (IEC 62196) socket, so you use your own Type 2 charging cable to connect the vehicle.
What protection is required for installation?
An external circuit breaker (40 A recommended) is required as the means to disconnect, and an external RCD is required. The unit itself is rated IP44 for outdoor installation.
