Description

The Victron SmartShunt IP65 1000 A is a water-resistant, all-in-one battery monitor without a display. Your phone or tablet acts as the screen: it connects over built-in Bluetooth to the VictronConnect app, where you can read state of charge, time to go, voltage, current and full historical data for the battery bank.

The IP65 housing makes it suited to exposed and damp installations on deck, in engine spaces and in machinery compartments. On this version the shunt is attached directly to the monitor unit, and pre-fitted cables make wiring straightforward: the shunt sits in the negative line of the battery bank, with a positive sense lead and an auxiliary input that can monitor a second battery voltage, a midpoint, or battery temperature with the optional sensor.

A VE.Direct cable with socket is fitted so the unit can be read by a Victron GX device such as the Cerbo GX, bringing battery data into a wider system display and VRM remote monitoring. A separate VE.Direct cable is needed to make that connection. The 1000 A rating suits large house banks and inverter systems that draw high currents.

Is the SmartShunt IP65 waterproof?
It is water resistant to IP65, which protects against dust and low-pressure water jets. This makes it suitable for exposed and damp installations, though it is not rated for immersion.
