Description

The Victron Phoenix Inverter 12/250 VE.Direct converts 12V battery power into a clean 120V AC supply, letting you run mains equipment from a leisure or starter battery aboard a boat, in a campervan or at an off-grid site. The full bridge and toroidal transformer design has proven its reliability over many years and is fully short circuit proof, with protection against overheating from overload or high ambient temperature.

Its pure sine wave output is identical in quality to grid power, so it drives sensitive electronics such as laptops, chargers and audio visual gear without interference. A generous 400W of peak power handles the brief surge that motors, pumps and electronic transformers draw at switch on, making it well suited to laptops, phone and tool chargers, LED lighting and small mains appliances.

The built in VE.Direct port connects to a phone, tablet or computer through an optional VE.Direct to USB cable or Bluetooth Smart dongle, giving live readings of input and output voltage, load and alarms. ECO mode drops the inverter to a low power standby when the load falls away, which conserves the battery during long unattended periods. This unit is fitted with a NEMA 5-15R outlet with GFCI protection. The GFCI outlet adds earth leakage protection for added safety.

Does this inverter produce a pure sine wave?
Yes. The Phoenix 12/250 VE.Direct delivers a true pure sine wave output that matches the quality of mains electricity, so it runs sensitive electronics such as laptops, chargers and audio visual equipment cleanly and without interference.
What can a 250VA inverter run?
It provides 200W continuously at 25C with a 400W peak, which suits laptops, phone and tool chargers, LED lighting and small mains appliances. Check the running and start up wattage of your device against these figures before connecting larger loads.
How do I monitor the inverter?
The built in VE.Direct port connects to a phone, tablet or computer using an optional VE.Direct to USB cable or VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart dongle. The free VictronConnect app shows input and output voltage, load and alarms, and lets you adjust the settings.
What is ECO mode?
ECO mode places the inverter into a low power standby when the connected load falls below a set level (minimum 15W). It wakes briefly at an adjustable interval to check for demand, which greatly reduces the drain on the battery during quiet periods.
Will it protect my battery from being drained?
Yes. The inverter has an adjustable low voltage shut down, a load dependent dynamic cut off and a low voltage restart with alarm, so it switches off before the battery is discharged too deeply and signals the condition audibly and visually.
Does it come with a warranty?
Yes. Like all current Victron inverters it carries a 5 year manufacturer warranty.
