Description
The Phoenix Smart IP43 Charger is Victron Energy's compact, natural-convection cooled mains charger with built-in Bluetooth. It suits marine, leisure, eMobility and off-grid systems where a quiet, efficient charger that can be set up and monitored from a phone is wanted.
This 24V 16A model uses an adaptive 6-stage charge algorithm that optimises the charge to the way the battery is used, with selectable Normal, High and Lithium profiles and a fully programmable option. A storage mode lowers the voltage when the battery is left connected to limit gassing and corrosion.
The 1+1 output configuration charges a main house bank at the full rated current and tops up a starter battery through a second output limited to about 4 A. VE.Smart Networking allows external voltage and temperature sensing and synchronised charging across several units, and a VE.Direct port links the charger to a GX device for monitoring through the VRM portal.

Does this charger have Bluetooth?
Yes. The Phoenix Smart IP43 Charger has built-in Bluetooth, so you can set up, monitor and update it and configure alarms from the VictronConnect app on a phone or tablet. It can also connect by VE.Direct to a GX device such as a Cerbo GX for full system monitoring through the VRM portal.
What does the (1+1) output mean?
The 1+1 version has two outputs. The main output delivers the full rated current to your house bank, and a second output limited to about 4 A keeps a starter battery topped up.
Can it charge lithium (LiFePO4) batteries?
Yes. A dedicated lithium charge algorithm is selectable, and the charge algorithm is fully programmable over Bluetooth or VE.Direct. Charger on/off can also be driven from a lithium BMS through the remote on/off port.
Is a mains lead included?
No. The charger uses an IEC 320 C14 inlet and the AC cord with the correct country plug must be ordered separately.
Can several chargers work together?
Yes. Pairing two or more units in a VE.Smart Network enables synchronised charging, which improves charge efficiency and battery life. An external Smart Battery Sense, SmartShunt or BMV-712 can also share battery voltage and temperature with the chargers.
