Description
The SmartSolar MPPT RS 450/200 is Victron's highest-power RS solar charge controller for systems with large series-connected PV arrays charging a 48 V battery bank, in both off-grid and on-grid applications where maximum charging power is required. It accepts up to 450 V DC of PV input across a wide 65 to 450 V MPPT operating range, with four independent MPPT trackers so the array can be split and optimised for the site and shading.
Full galvanic isolation between the PV and battery connections adds system safety, and the unit continuously monitors PV array isolation resistance, flagging a fault if it drops to unsafe levels. High-frequency design and active cooling let this 200 A model deliver up to 11.5 kW of charge power with quiet, efficient operation. Charging is fully programmable for lead-acid, lithium and other chemistries, and a battery temperature sensor is included.
A front-panel display reads battery and tracker data, while built-in Bluetooth, VE.Direct and VE.Can ports allow set-up and monitoring with VictronConnect and a GX device. Up to 25 units can be connected in parallel over VE.Can, with remote monitoring through the VRM portal.
