Description
This external temperature sensor is an accessory for the Victron BlueSolar PWM-Pro range of solar charge controllers. It measures battery temperature and feeds it back to the controller so the charge voltage can be compensated as temperatures rise and fall, which helps protect the battery and improves charging accuracy.
Lead-acid batteries in particular benefit from temperature-compensated charging, as the ideal charge voltage changes with temperature. Fitting the sensor allows the PWM-Pro controller to apply this compensation automatically rather than relying on a fixed setting.
The sensor is optional and connects directly to a compatible BlueSolar PWM-Pro controller. It is not required for the controller to operate, but it is recommended where accurate charging across a wide temperature range matters.
