Description
The Venus GX is a system controller for Victron installations. It monitors and controls the connected inverters, Multis, Quattros, MPPT solar chargers and BMV battery monitors, and forwards every reading to the free VRM online portal for remote monitoring and data logging.
It acts as the energy manager in an ESS energy storage system and includes a highly configurable generator auto start and stop function based on state of charge, voltage, load and other parameters. Connections cover two VE.Direct ports, VE.Bus, VE.Can, a Gigabit Ethernet port, Wi-Fi as both access point and client, and two USB host ports. Three resistive tank inputs, two temperature inputs and a potential-free relay are provided for monitoring and control. The unit has no screen of its own and is accessed through Remote Console on VRM, the built-in Wi-Fi access point or the local network.
The Venus GX has no internal cellular modem and no SIM card slot; where mobile internet is needed, an external router is used. When offline, it stores data internally for up to 48 hours, or longer with a microSD card or USB stick fitted.
