Description

The Victron BMV-700 is a high-precision battery monitor that tracks the true state of charge of a single battery bank. It continuously measures battery voltage and the current flowing in and out through the supplied 500 A shunt, then applies Victron's charge-counting algorithm to report ampere-hours consumed, state of charge and the estimated time remaining at the present rate of discharge.

This kit contains the 63 mm round head unit, the 500 A / 50 mV shunt, a 10 metre RJ12 cable and a fused battery cable, so no further parts are needed for a basic installation. A programmable visual and audible alarm and a programmable relay let the monitor warn of a low battery or switch off non-critical loads automatically.

A VE.Direct port connects the BMV-700 to a GX device or computer for system monitoring, and an optional VE.Direct to Bluetooth Smart dongle adds wireless read-out and configuration from a phone or tablet.

What is supplied in the BMV-700 kit?
The kit includes the BMV-700 head unit, a 500 A / 50 mV current shunt, a 10 metre RJ12 connecting cable and a battery cable fitted with a 1 A slow-blow fuse. A square and round front bezel, a rear securing ring and front-mounting screws are also included.
Can the BMV-700 monitor two batteries?
No. The BMV-700 monitors a single battery bank. If you need to monitor a second battery voltage, battery temperature or the midpoint voltage of a series string, choose the BMV-702 or BMV-712 Smart, which add an auxiliary input.
Does the BMV-700 have Bluetooth?
The BMV-700 does not have Bluetooth built in. Wireless monitoring and configuration from a smartphone or tablet can be added with the optional VE.Direct to Bluetooth Smart dongle, or you can choose the BMV-712 Smart, which has Bluetooth built in.
What battery voltages does the BMV-700 support?
The BMV-700 accepts a supply voltage range of 6.5 to 95 VDC, covering 12, 24, 36 and 48 V battery systems. For higher voltages up to 385 VDC use the BMV-700H.
Can the BMV-700 connect to a GX device?
Yes. The BMV-700 has a VE.Direct communication port, so it can be connected to a Victron GX device or to a computer. Up to four BMV units can connect directly to a Color Control GX.
