Description

The Victron Inverter RS 48/6000 Smart Solar is a premium off-grid power unit that combines a powerful 48V, 6kVA, 230V pure sine wave inverter with a high-voltage 80 to 450V, 4kW MPPT solar charger in a single enclosure. Designed for solar-based off-grid systems, it lets your panels charge the battery and supply loads directly while the inverter delivers clean mains power.

Modern high-frequency engineering keeps the unit to just 11 kg, with excellent efficiency of up to 96.5%, very low standby consumption and quiet operation. A built-in colour display shows battery, inverter and solar charger data at a glance, and the same information is available over Bluetooth through the VictronConnect app.

For larger installations, up to twelve units can be paralleled, with three-phase systems supporting four units per phase. A VE.Can port connects the inverter to a GX device such as the Cerbo GX for system integration and remote monitoring, while a VE.Direct port suits a GlobalLink 520. A generator can be added through an external battery charger when extra power is needed.

What is the difference between the Inverter RS Smart Solar and a standard inverter?
The Inverter RS Smart Solar is a hybrid unit. As well as inverting 48V battery power to 230V mains, it contains a built-in 80 to 450V, 4kW MPPT solar charger, so your solar panels charge the battery and power loads directly without a separate charge controller.
How much solar can I connect?
The integrated MPPT charger accepts a PV array up to 450 V with an MPPT range of 65 to 450 V, and delivers up to 4000 W of solar charging power. Maximum operational PV input current is 18 A.
Does it produce a pure sine wave, and how efficient is it?
Yes, the output is a true pure sine wave at 230 VAC, 50 Hz. Efficiency reaches up to 96.5% at a 1 kW load, with low standby consumption of around 20 W.
Can I build a larger or three-phase system?
Yes. Up to twelve units can run in parallel, and three-phase systems support four units per phase, so the platform scales to substantial off-grid installations.
How do I monitor it?
It has a built-in colour display for battery, inverter and solar data, plus Bluetooth for the VictronConnect app. A VE.Can port connects to a GX device such as the Cerbo GX for the VRM portal, and a VE.Direct port suits the GlobalLink 520.
Can I add a generator?
Yes. A generator can be connected through an external battery charger to provide additional charging power when solar is insufficient.
