Description
The miniBMS is a compact battery management system for smaller Victron lithium systems that do not use a VE.Bus inverter or inverter/charger. It monitors every cell of the connected Victron lithium battery and acts through two dedicated outputs when a cell reaches a limit, protecting the battery from over discharge, overcharge and out of range temperatures.
The Load Disconnect output responds to an imminent low cell voltage by disconnecting DC loads, typically by controlling the remote terminal of a Smart BatteryProtect, to prevent further discharge. The Charge Disconnect output responds to a cell overvoltage or an out of range temperature by stopping charging, controlling devices such as a Cyrix-Li-ct battery combiner, a Cyrix-Li-Charge relay, a Smart Charger IP43 or a BatteryProtect. This lets you build a fully protected lithium system from Victron building blocks without a larger BMS.
Small and simple to wire, the miniBMS is a cost effective choice for compact marine and off grid lithium installations where a full VE.Bus BMS is not needed.
