Description
The Victron MultiPlus-II 24/3000/70-32 is a 24 V multifunctional inverter/charger that brings together a powerful sine wave inverter, a sophisticated 70 A battery charger and an ultra fast 32 A transfer switch in a single compact enclosure. It is built for professional marine, vehicle and off-grid installations, and is equally at home in an Energy Storage System (ESS), where its integrated anti-islanding protection allows it to work safely alongside the grid and renewable sources.
Two of Victron's signature technologies, PowerControl and PowerAssist, give the unit intelligent command over limited shore or generator supplies; PowerControl caps the current drawn from the source while PowerAssist adds up to 3000 VA of stored battery power to cover short load peaks. When the incoming supply fails the MultiPlus-II takes over in less than 20 milliseconds, so sensitive electronics carry on without interruption, and an optional external AC current sensor (50 A or 100 A) can be fitted to widen the PowerControl and PowerAssist range.
A second AC output handles non critical loads that should be shed when the mains disappears, and up to six units can be paralleled or arranged in three phase for larger installations. Configuration is straightforward over VEConfigure using an MK3-USB interface, while connecting the system to a GX device such as a Cerbo GX unlocks local monitoring and full remote oversight on the free VRM portal.

How fast does the MultiPlus-II switch to battery power during a grid failure?
The transfer to inverter operation happens in less than 20 milliseconds, so computers and other electronic equipment continue to operate without disruption.
What do PowerControl and PowerAssist do?
PowerControl lets you set a maximum shore or generator current; the unit then uses only the spare capacity for battery charging to avoid overloading the source. PowerAssist goes further by adding battery power to support the supply during short peaks, then recharges the battery when the load drops.
Can the MultiPlus-II be used in parallel or three-phase systems?
Yes. Up to six units can be connected in parallel for higher output, and three units of the same model can be configured for three-phase operation, with up to six sets of three paralleled for larger systems.
Is an external current sensor required?
No, it is optional. An external AC current sensor (50 A or 100 A) can be added to extend the PowerControl and PowerAssist range and to optimise self-consumption with external current sensing.
Can the MultiPlus-II be monitored remotely?
Yes. When connected to a GX device such as a Cerbo GX, system data can be stored and viewed on the free VRM portal, and settings can be changed remotely over the internet.
