Description
The Victron MultiPlus-II 48/15000/200-100 is the flagship single unit in the range, bringing together a high-power sine wave inverter, a 200 A battery charger and an automatic AC transfer switch in one heavy-duty enclosure. It supplies a clean and stable 230 VAC output for the most demanding single-phase loads, while the integrated charger restores the battery bank whenever shore power or a generator is present. Transfer between mains and inverter operation is automatic and completes in under 20 milliseconds, keeping sensitive electronics running seamlessly through any grid interruption.
PowerControl lets you set a maximum shore or generator current so that only the spare capacity is used for charging and a limited source is never overloaded. PowerAssist takes this further by adding battery power to the supply to absorb short, heavy peaks, then recharging as soon as demand drops. An optional external AC current sensor (50 A or 100 A) extends this range and helps optimise self-consumption, while the second AC output is well suited to shedding non-critical loads. The unit is ESS ready with built-in anti-islanding for grid-parallel energy storage, and it is configured using VEConfigure through an MK3-USB interface, with full monitoring and remote control via a GX device and the free VRM portal.
As the largest of the high-power models, this 15 kVA unit can be paralleled for even greater output only when an external AC transfer switch is fitted; the 8 kVA, 10 kVA and 15 kVA models all share this requirement so that large single-phase and three-phase systems remain safely coordinated. A substantial steel housing, full protection suite and wide operating temperature range make it ideal for large marine, off-grid and backup installations.

How fast does the MultiPlus-II switch to battery power during a grid failure?
The transfer to inverter operation happens in less than 20 milliseconds, so computers and other electronic equipment continue to operate without disruption.
What do PowerControl and PowerAssist do?
PowerControl lets you set a maximum shore or generator current; the unit then uses only the spare capacity for battery charging to avoid overloading the source. PowerAssist goes further by adding battery power to support the supply during short peaks, then recharges the battery when the load drops.
Can these high-power models be paralleled?
Yes, but the 8 kVA, 10 kVA and 15 kVA models can only be connected in parallel when an external AC transfer switch is used; see the MultiPlus-II External Transfer Switch application manual.
Is an external current sensor required?
No, it is optional. An external AC current sensor (50 A or 100 A) can be added to extend the PowerControl and PowerAssist range and to optimise self-consumption with external current sensing.
Can the MultiPlus-II be monitored remotely?
Yes. When connected to a GX device such as a Cerbo GX, system data can be stored and viewed on the free VRM portal, and settings can be changed remotely over the internet.
