Description
The Victron Orion 12/24-8 is a non-isolated DC-DC converter that steps a 12V supply up to a fixed 24V output, delivering up to 8A (192W continuous). It is designed to power 24V equipment from a 12V system. Unlike the adjustable models in the high-power range it has a fixed output and is not intended to buffer-charge a battery; where controlled charging is needed an Orion-Tr Smart charger should be used.
The converter holds a stable output across a 9 to 18V input and is short-circuit protected, with a quiet fanless design and a low off-load current. It suits onboard, automotive and off-grid installations where a small amount of 24V power is required from a 12V source.
Connections are made with 6.3 mm Faston tabs and the supply includes four insulated female crimp terminals, so the unit installs quickly without special tools.
