Description
The Victron Orion 24/12-30 is a non-isolated DC-DC converter that steps a 24V supply down to a 12V output, delivering up to 30A (360W continuous). The output is adjustable with a potentiometer over a 10 to 15V range, with a factory setting of 13.2V, so it can power 12V equipment from a 24V system or buffer-charge a 12V battery from a 24V source.
This latest-generation model is highly efficient at around 96 percent and holds a stable output across an 18 to 35V input. A remote on/off connector removes the need for a high-current switch in the input wiring and can be operated by a low-power switch or the engine run/stop signal. Adjustable-output models can be paralleled, up to five units, to increase the available output current.
Connections are made with 6.3 mm Faston tabs and the supply includes insulated female crimp terminals, so the unit installs quickly without special tools.
