Description

The Victron Peak Power Pack is a portable 12.8V lithium-ion (LiFePO4) battery pack with a built-in charger and a high current output, designed to power tools, pumps and mobile equipment away from a fixed installation. Intrinsically safe LiFePO4 cells and a fully integrated management system make it a rugged, drop-in energy source for jobs where a conventional lead-acid battery would be too heavy or too easily damaged by deep discharge.

Two independent outputs handle different jobs. The high capacity 'mover' output delivers up to 150 A continuously (200 A for 10 seconds) for energy-intensive tasks such as caravan movers, while the 'domestic' output supplies up to 30 A for lighting, audio and video, pumps and fridges. Both outputs are short-circuit proof and protected against excessive discharge. On the 30Ah and 40Ah models the high capacity output also allows rapid charging from a battery charger or inverter/charger, up to 20 A on this 40Ah pack.

Charging is equally flexible. Input 1 accepts any source between 11 V and 25 V, so it can be topped up while driving from the vehicle alternator or from a solar panel, with current automatically limited to a safe value. Input 2 takes the supplied 110/230 V mains adapter. A multifunction push-button with a dual-colour LED handles operation and status, and a storage mode cuts consumption to almost nothing to protect the battery when the pack is not in use.

What is the difference between the two outputs?
The high capacity 'mover' output supplies up to 150 A continuously (200 A for 10 seconds) for energy-intensive tasks such as caravan movers, while the 'domestic' output supplies up to 30 A for lighting, audio and video, pumps and fridges. Both are short-circuit proof and protected against excessive discharge.
How do I charge the Peak Power Pack?
It can be charged two ways. Input 1 (car/solar) accepts any source between 11 V and 25 V, so it can be topped up from a vehicle alternator while driving or from a solar panel, with the charge current automatically limited to a safe value. Input 2 takes the supplied 110/230 V mains adapter, which charges at 3 A. On this 40Ah model rapid charging up to 20 A is also possible via the high capacity output.
Can I connect several packs in parallel or series?
No. The Peak Power Pack is not suitable for parallel or series connection. Use a single pack sized to your application.
What does storage mode do?
Storage mode reduces the pack's power consumption to almost zero, preventing damage from excessive discharge during long periods of storage. It is activated by holding the push-button for 5 seconds.
Can I monitor the pack from my phone?
Yes. The pack has a VE.Direct port. With a VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart dongle you can monitor battery voltage, temperature and alarms and control the outputs from a smartphone, or connect to a PC with a VE.Direct to USB cable.
