Description
The Victron Pre-Charge cable is used when connecting a large capacitive load, such as an inverter or inverter/charger, to a battery bank. It limits the inrush current that would otherwise flow the instant the connection is made, protecting contacts and components from the initial surge as the load capacitors charge.
Fitted momentarily before the main connection is closed, it lets the capacitors charge in a controlled way, reducing arcing and stress on switches and battery terminals.
