Description
The Victron Quattro-II 24/5000/120-50 is a combined sine wave inverter and battery charger for a 24 V system, designed for marine, mobile and off-grid use and for energy storage (ESS). It has a single AC input with a 50 A transfer switch and connects to grid or generator power, taking over the supply instantly if that source fails.
PowerControl limits the current drawn from a generator or the grid so it is not overloaded, while PowerAssist boosts a limited source with battery power during short peaks. An uninterrupted main output changes over in under 20 ms to keep sensitive equipment running, and a second output sheds non-essential loads when required.
The Quattro-II is ESS-ready and supports parallel and three phase operation, so several units can be combined for higher power. Monitoring and configuration are handled over VE.Bus and, with a GX device, through the free VRM portal and app.

What is the Quattro-II and how does it differ from the standard Quattro?
The Quattro-II is a combined inverter and charger with a single AC input and a 50 A transfer switch, and it adds ESS (Energy Storage System) functionality for self-consumption and backup. It connects to grid or generator power and takes over the supply instantly if that source fails.
What does ESS functionality provide?
ESS lets the Quattro-II work as part of an energy storage system, combining solar or grid charging with battery storage to optimise self-consumption and provide backup power. It is compatible with both solar charge controllers and grid-tie inverters.
What is the difference between PowerControl and PowerAssist?
PowerControl lets you set a maximum grid or generator current so the Quattro-II never overloads the source, using any spare capacity to charge the battery. PowerAssist goes further and tops up a limited source with power from the battery during short peaks, then recharges once the load drops.
How quickly does it switch over during a power failure?
The main output is uninterrupted and takes over the supply in less than 20 milliseconds when grid, shore or generator power is lost, so computers and other sensitive equipment keep running without disruption.
How do I monitor and control the Quattro-II?
Settings are configured with VEConfigure software via an MK3-USB interface. Monitoring and control options include a Cerbo GX or Ekrano GX, the VE.Bus Smart dongle over Bluetooth, a Digital Multi Control panel, and the free VRM portal and VRM app when a GX device is connected to the internet.
