Description
The Victron Quattro 12/3000/120-50/50 is a combined sine wave inverter and battery charger for 12 V systems, designed for marine, mobile and off-grid installations that draw on more than one power source. It accepts two independent AC inputs, such as shore power and a generator, and connects automatically to whichever source is live through its integrated transfer switch.
PowerControl limits the current drawn from a generator or shore supply so it is never overloaded, while PowerAssist boosts a limited source with power from the battery during short peaks. An uninterrupted main output keeps connected equipment running through a changeover in under 20 milliseconds, and a second auxiliary output sheds non-essential loads when no AC source is present.
For larger systems, units can be paralleled or configured for split phase and three phase operation. Monitoring and configuration are handled over the VE.Bus port and, when paired with a GX device, through the free VRM portal and app.

How many AC inputs does the Quattro have?
It has two AC inputs with an integrated transfer switch. You can connect two independent sources, for example shore power and a generator, and the Quattro automatically connects to whichever source is active. The maximum feed-through current is 2x 50 A.
What is the difference between PowerControl and PowerAssist?
PowerControl lets you set a current limit on each AC input so the Quattro never overloads a generator or shore supply, using any spare capacity to charge the battery. PowerAssist goes further and tops up a limited source with power from the battery during short peaks, then recharges the battery once the load drops.
How quickly does it switch over during a power failure?
The main output is uninterrupted and takes over the supply in less than 20 milliseconds when grid, shore or generator power is lost, so computers and other sensitive equipment keep running without disruption.
Can I run several units together for more power?
Yes. Multiple units can be connected in parallel, and three units can be configured for three phase output. Split phase operation is also possible using a Victron autotransformer. Configuration is handled over the VE.Bus port.
How do I monitor and control the Quattro?
Local monitoring is available via a Digital Multi Control panel, the VE.Bus Smart dongle over Bluetooth, or a GX device such as a Cerbo GX. When connected to a GX device you also get free remote monitoring and configuration through the Victron VRM portal and VRM app.
