Description

The Victron Skylla-TG 24/100 is a robust, microprocessor-controlled 24 V marine charger that delivers up to 100 A from a 230 VAC supply, making it well suited to large house battery banks. The stabilised output also allows it to be used as a DC power supply. Charging follows an IUoUo three-step characteristic (bulk, absorption, float) that protects the batteries against overcharging. The supplied temperature sensor reduces the charge voltage as the battery temperature rises, while battery voltage sense compensates for cable voltage loss so the batteries always receive the correct voltage. A second 4 A output keeps a separate starter battery topped up. Housed in a sea-water-resistant aluminium enclosure and force-cooled to an IP21 rating, the 24/100 is built for the marine environment. Because the float stage prevents overcharging, the charger can remain connected to the batteries throughout seasonal storage.

Does the Skylla-TG 24/100 have more than one battery output?
Yes. It has two isolated outputs: a full-current output rated up to 100 A for the house battery bank and a second output that delivers up to 4 A to keep a starter battery topped up.
What charge profile does the 24/100 use?
It uses an IUoUo three-step charge characteristic (bulk, absorption, float). For a 24 V system this means an absorption voltage of 28.5 V and a float voltage of 26.5 V, with the absorption time selectable at 4, 8 or 12 hours.
Can the charger stay connected to the batteries permanently?
Yes. The three-step IUoUo algorithm drops to a float voltage of 26.5 V once the batteries are charged, so the unit can remain connected during seasonal storage without overcharging the batteries.
How does the charger compensate for temperature and cable losses?
A battery temperature sensor is supplied and reduces the charge voltage as the battery temperature rises. Battery voltage sense measures the voltage at the battery and compensates for up to 2 V of cable voltage loss.
Can the Skylla-TG 24/100 be used as a DC power supply?
Yes. The microprocessor-controlled output is stabilised, so the 24/100 can be used as a DC power supply as well as a battery charger.
