Description

The Skylla-TG 24/100 3-Phase is a 24 V, 100 A marine battery charger powered from a 3 x 400 V three-phase mains (320-450 VAC), making it well suited to larger vessels and commercial installations where three-phase shore or generator power is available. The three-phase supply is taken through an integral magnetic circuit breaker.

Charging follows the IUoUo three-step characteristic and is refined by the supplied battery temperature sensor and a voltage sense connection that compensates for cable losses. A separate 4 A second output keeps a starter battery topped up, while the unit can remain connected to the batteries throughout periods of storage.

The charger is housed in a sea-water-resistant aluminium enclosure, is force-cooled and rated IP21. Unlike the single-phase Skylla-TG models, the 3-phase version does not accept a DC supply.

What power supply does the Skylla-TG 24/100 3-Phase need?
It requires a 3 x 400 V three-phase supply with a voltage range of 320 to 450 VAC, connected through an integral magnetic circuit breaker. Unlike the single-phase Skylla-TG models, the 3-phase version does not accept a DC supply.
How many battery outputs does it have?
It has two isolated outputs: a full-current output for the main house battery bank and a separate 4 A output to keep a starter battery charged.
What charge characteristic does it use?
It uses the IUoUo three-step characteristic with an absorption voltage of 28.5 V and a float voltage of 26.5 V, and the absorption period can be set to 4, 8 or 12 hours.
Does it compensate for temperature and cable losses?
Yes. A battery temperature sensor is supplied for temperature-compensated charging, and a battery voltage sense connection compensates for cable voltage loss of up to 2 V.
What battery capacity is recommended?
A battery bank of between 500 and 1000 Ah is recommended for this charger.
