Description
The Skylla-TG 24/50 3-Phase is a 24 V, 50 A marine battery charger powered from a 3 x 400 V three-phase mains (320 to 450 VAC). It is suited to larger vessels and commercial installations where three-phase shore or generator power is available, with the three-phase input taken through a magnetic circuit breaker.
Charging follows the IUoUo three-step characteristic, with a supplied battery temperature sensor and battery voltage sense ensuring an accurate charge. A 4 A second output tops up a starter battery alongside the main house bank.
Built into a sea-water-resistant aluminium enclosure with forced-air cooling and an IP21 rating, the charger can stay connected to the batteries during storage. Note that, unlike the single-phase Skylla-TG models, the 3-phase version does not accept a DC supply.

What supply does the Skylla-TG 24/50 3-Phase need?
This model is fed from a 3 x 400 V three-phase supply, accepting an input range of 320 to 450 VAC, with the three-phase input taken through a magnetic circuit breaker. Unlike the single-phase Skylla-TG models, the 3-phase version does not accept a DC supply.
How many batteries can the 3-Phase charger charge at once?
The charger has two isolated outputs, so it can charge two banks at the same time. The main output supplies the full charge current to the house bank, while a separate output delivers up to 4 A to top up a starter battery.
What charge profile does the 3-Phase model use?
It uses the IUoUo three-step charge characteristic, working through bulk, absorption and float stages with an absorption voltage of 28.5 V and a float voltage of 26.5 V. The absorption time can be set to 4, 8 or 12 hours to suit your batteries.
How does the charger compensate for temperature and cable losses?
A battery temperature sensor is supplied as standard, allowing the charge voltage to be adjusted for battery temperature. Battery voltage sense further compensates for cable voltage loss of up to 2 V, so the batteries receive the correct charge voltage.
What battery capacity is recommended for the 3-Phase 24/50?
Victron recommends a battery capacity of 400 to 800 Ah for the Skylla-TG 24/50 3-Phase. This larger range reflects its use on bigger vessels and commercial installations with three-phase power.
