Description
The Skylla-i 24/100 is a modern, high-output battery charger built for marine and other demanding environments. Its aluminium epoxy powder-coated case, drip shield, stainless steel fixings and acrylic-coated circuit boards are designed to withstand heat, humidity and salt air, while internal temperature sensors keep the power components within their limits, reducing output if conditions become extreme. This (1+1) version provides two isolated outputs, one delivering the full charge current and a second limited to around 4 A to keep a starter battery topped up.
Charging is managed by a seven-stage adaptive algorithm that tailors the absorption time to how deeply the battery has been discharged, with a BatterySafe stage to limit gassing and a Storage mode that lowers the voltage when the battery is left unused. A supplied battery temperature sensor and a voltage sense facility help deliver the correct charge voltage at the terminals. The charger is also Li-Ion (LiFePO4) ready and can be used as a stabilised power supply.
Connectivity is handled through a galvanically isolated VE.Can (NMEA 2000) interface, allowing several chargers to be synchronised for parallel operation and connected to a Skylla Control panel for remote monitoring and shore-current limiting. The charger accepts both AC and DC supply, making it flexible across a wide range of installations.

Can the Skylla-i 24/100 charge more than one battery bank?
Yes. This is the (1+1) version with two isolated outputs: a main output rated at the full 100 A and a second output limited to approximately 4 A at a slightly lower voltage, intended to top up a starter battery.
Is the Skylla-i suitable for lithium batteries?
Yes, it is Li-Ion (LiFePO4) ready. Simple on/off control can be implemented by connecting a relay or open-collector optocoupler output from a Li-Ion BMS to the remote on/off port, or full voltage and current control can be achieved through the galvanically isolated CAN bus port.
Can it run from a DC supply as well as mains?
Yes. The Skylla-i accepts both AC and DC supply, with an AC input range of 185 to 265 VAC and a DC input range of 180 to 350 VDC.
Can several Skylla-i chargers be used together?
Yes. Chargers can be synchronised for parallel operation using the VE.Can interface by interconnecting them with RJ45 UTP cables. Note that two-output and three-output models cannot be paralleled with each other.
Does it manage charge voltage when batteries are left unused?
Yes. The Storage mode engages when a battery has not been discharged for 24 hours, reducing the float voltage to 26.4 V to limit gassing and plate corrosion, then refreshing the battery to absorption level once a week.
