Description

The Victron SmartShunt 2000 A is an all-in-one battery monitor without a display. Your phone or tablet acts as the screen: it connects over built-in Bluetooth to the VictronConnect app, where you can read state of charge, time to go, voltage, current and full historical data for the battery bank.

It works as a straightforward alternative to a BMV battery monitor for systems where accurate monitoring is needed but less wiring and panel clutter is wanted. The shunt is wired in the negative line of the battery bank and a single positive sense lead completes the connection. An auxiliary input lets you also monitor a second battery voltage, a midpoint, or battery temperature with the optional sensor.

A VE.Direct port allows the SmartShunt to be read by a Victron GX device such as the Cerbo GX, bringing battery data into a wider system display and remote monitoring through the VRM portal. The 2000 A rating suits very large banks and high-power inverter installations.

Does the SmartShunt have a display?
No. The SmartShunt has no built-in display. It connects over Bluetooth to the free VictronConnect app on your phone or tablet, which shows state of charge, time to go, voltage, current and historical data.
How is the SmartShunt different from a BMV battery monitor?
The SmartShunt provides the same monitoring as a BMV but without a panel display, and it has no programmable visual or audible alarm and no programmable relay. Alarms are shown in the VictronConnect app or on a connected GX device instead.
Can the SmartShunt connect to a GX device?
Yes. A VE.Direct port lets the SmartShunt be read by a Victron GX device such as the Cerbo GX, using a VE.Direct cable, so battery data appears on the system display and in the VRM portal.
What can the auxiliary input monitor?
The auxiliary input can monitor the voltage of a second battery, a battery bank midpoint, or battery temperature when the optional temperature sensor is fitted.
What battery voltages does it support?
The SmartShunt has a supply range of 6.5 to 70 VDC and can be configured for battery banks from 1 to 9999 Ah, so it suits 12, 24 and 48 V systems.
