Description
The Victron VE Transfer Switch 10kVA automates the changeover between two AC power sources: between a generator and shore power, between an inverter and a generator, or between an inverter and shore power. It has two inputs and one output, and automatically routes whichever source is available to the output.
Input 1 is normally the priority source (a generator or shore supply). If the voltage or frequency on input 1 drifts out of range, the transfer switch changes over to input 2 (typically the inverter). Once the input 1 supply has been continuously stable again, the switch returns to it after a delay of approximately 10 seconds. During the changeover the output briefly loses power, so it is intended for general loads rather than sensitive equipment that cannot tolerate a short interruption.
This model is rated at 10 kVA on a single-phase 200 to 250 V AC supply, making it suitable for larger marine and off-grid installations where a generator or shore feed is combined with an inverter.
