Garmin Airmar 599LH CHIRP Dual Range 2kW In-Hull Transducer Barewire
Description
PRODUCT DETAILS
- In-hull broadband CHIRP transducer, dual 28-60 kHz (low) and 130-210 kHz (high) bands for extreme depth and detail
- 2 to 3 kW of dual-range transmit power with 112 kHz of total bandwidth from a 25-element ceramic array
- Mounts in a liquid-filled tank inside the hull, so no hole is drilled and there is no drag or marine growth
- Sounds to 10,000 ft on the low band, the deepest in the in-hull CHIRP range
- For solid fibreglass hulls only, up to 22 deg deadrise short side / 12 deg long side
- Depth only (no water-temperature sensor in the in-hull configuration)
- Requires the Garmin GSD 26 CHIRP sonar module and connects to networked GPSMAP chartplotters
- 599LH transducer with 49 ft (15 m) bare-wire cable
- Plastic tank with cork liner and nitrile gasket
- Rubber stoppers
- Stainless cap screws, lock washers and flat washers
- Allen wrench
- Installation instructions

Sonar
| Sonar type | Broadband CHIRP, dual-band Low and High (in-hull, depth only) |
| Frequency – Low band | 28 to 60 kHz |
| Frequency – High band | 130 to 210 kHz |
| Total bandwidth | 112 kHz from one transducer |
| Transmit power | 2 to 3 kW (dual-range high power) |
| Maximum depth | 10,000 ft (3,048 m). Low band to 3,048 m (10,000 ft); high band to 457 m (1,500 ft) |
Beam
| Beamwidth – Low band | 23 to 9 degrees port-starboard, 11 to 5 degrees fore-aft |
| Beamwidth – High band | 8 to 4 degrees |
Mounting
| Mount type | In-hull (tank mount). The transducer is suspended in a liquid-filled tank epoxied inside the hull and sounds through the solid fibreglass; no hole is drilled |
| Hull suitability | Solid fibreglass hulls only (stepped, planing or displacement). Not for cored or metal hulls. Hull deadrise up to 22 degrees short side, up to 12 degrees long side. Not ideal for shallow water |
| Engine suitability | Single or twin inboard, I/O, outboard and jet-drive propulsion |
Physical
| Housing material | Plastic / urethane transducer housing in a liquid-filled plastic tank (cork liner, nitrile gasket) |
| Element configuration | 25 internal broadband ceramic assemblies |
| Tank dimensions | Approximately 436.2 mm (17.18 in) length, 368.3 mm (14.5 in) width; built to 12 and 22 degree deadrise |
| Temperature sensor | No – depth only (in-hull installation) |
Connectivity
| Connector | Bare wires (terminates to the Garmin GSD 26 sonar module) |
| Cable length | 49 ft (15 m) |
Compatibility
| Sonar module required | Requires the Garmin GSD 26 CHIRP sonar module. Listed under "Spread Spectrum with CHIRP Technology Transducers for use with the Garmin GSD 26". Connects to networked GPSMAP chartplotters via the Garmin Marine Network. |
