The Garmin NMEA 2000 to CANet adaptor connects a NMEA 2000 style device to an existing Garmin CANet bus, allowing compatible sensors to feed data into a Garmin CANet system such as the GPSMAP 4xx and 5xx series chartplotters.
Description
The Garmin NMEA 2000 to CANet adaptor bridges a NMEA 2000 style device connection to an existing Garmin CANet bus, so that compatible Garmin sensors can be used with the older Garmin CANet networking system. It is the adapter supplied with the Garmin GFS 10 fuel sensor and is used where a chartplotter or system runs on CANet rather than NMEA 2000, for example the GPSMAP 4xx and 5xx series. The adapter wires into the existing CANet bus following the connection diagram in the GFS 10 documentation. If a boat does not already have a CANet bus in place, a separate Garmin CANet Kit (part number 010-10742-00) is required to establish one before the adapter can be used.
