The Lowrance Broadband 3G Radar was a compact radome for HDS displays, using Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) technology for excellent short-range target separation and clear, low-clutter imaging with around 30 percent more range than standard broadband radar. With effectively zero radiation hazard it suited fishing, cruising and sail boats where the dome is mounted close to people on board.
The kit shipped as a complete radar package with a 10 m scanner cable, an RI10 interface box with NMEA 2000 connectivity and an Ethernet adapter cable. It has now been replaced by the solid-state HALO20 and HALO20+ domes.
