Description

The Ray50 is Raymarine's compact fixed-mount marine VHF, engineered for boats where panel space is tight but full Class D DSC safety is essential. It transmits at a selectable 1W or 25W across all US, International and Canadian VHF marine bands, and its double-conversion superheterodyne receiver delivers clear reception with squelch sensitivity below -2 dBuV EMF.

An IPX6 and IPX7 waterproof rating lets the Ray50 shrug off heavy spray and brief immersion. A removable Fistmic gives intuitive channel and volume control, while the 2.5W base speaker keeps calls audible over engine noise. Connect the SeaTalkng / NMEA 2000 port to a compatible Raymarine MFD and the radio shares DSC distress and position data across the helm. NMEA 0183 and an audio (RCA) output round out the connections for a flexible install.

Does the Ray50 have a built-in GPS?
No. The Ray50 does not have an internal GPS receiver. Connect it to a GPS source over SeaTalkng / NMEA 2000 (for example a compatible Raymarine MFD) so it has the position data needed for DSC distress alerting. The Ray53 is the equivalent model with built-in GPS.
What transmit power does the Ray50 have?
The Ray50 transmits at a selectable 1 W (low power) or 25 W (high power) across all US, International and Canadian VHF marine bands.
Is the Ray50 waterproof?
Yes. The Ray50 is rated to IPX6 and IPX7, so it withstands powerful water jets and brief immersion. Note that Raymarine does not warrant products subjected to commercial high-pressure washing.
Can I add a second station to the Ray50?
The Ray50 is the compact model and does not have a rear second-station connector. For a second station with a RayMic handset, choose the Ray60 or Ray70.
Does the Ray50 connect to a Raymarine MFD?
Yes. The Ray50 has a SeaTalkng / NMEA 2000 connection that shares DSC and position information with a compatible Raymarine multifunction display.
