Description

The Raymarine SeaTalk 1 to SeaTalk NG Adaptor Kit lets older SeaTalk 1 products communicate with newer SeaTalk NG devices. Older autopilot systems, instruments, GPS receivers, Smart Controllers and LifeTag systems can be integrated into a modern SeaTalk NG network, protecting your investment in existing equipment when upgrading a display or autopilot.

At its heart is the SeaTalk to SeaTalk NG converter, which bridges the legacy 3-wire SeaTalk 1 bus to the SeaTalk NG backbone. Each converter allows connection of one SeaTalk 1 device and up to two SeaTalk NG devices. This kit version is supplied complete with the converter, two SeaTalk NG backbone terminators, two blanking plugs, a 400 mm SeaTalk to SeaTalk NG converter cable, a 1 m SeaTalk NG power cable and a 1 m SeaTalk NG spur cable, giving everything needed to establish basic SeaTalk NG connectivity.

SeaTalk NG is Raymarine's implementation of the NMEA 2000 standard. Cables and connectors are colour coded for easy identification, and the converter is rated IPx6 for installation below decks or in protected locations.

Which SeaTalk 1 devices can I connect to a SeaTalk NG network with this kit?
The kit lets older SeaTalk 1 products such as autopilot systems, instruments, GPS receivers, Smart Controllers and LifeTag systems communicate on a SeaTalk NG network. Each converter connects one SeaTalk 1 device and up to two SeaTalk NG devices.
What is the difference between the E22158 kit and the R52131?
The E22158 is the complete adaptor kit, supplied with the converter plus cables, terminators and blanking plugs. The R52131 is the converter on its own with no cables, for installations where the SeaTalk NG cabling is already in place.
Is SeaTalk NG the same as NMEA 2000?
SeaTalk NG is Raymarine's implementation of the NMEA 2000 standard. It shares the same backbone and spur cabling principles, and compatible NMEA 2000 devices can be connected using the appropriate adaptor cables.
Can the converter be mounted on deck?
The converter carries an IPx6 waterproof rating. Raymarine recommends fitting it below decks or in a protected location, with adequate strain relief on the cable connections.
