Description
The Raymarine B258 features four internal ceramics for increased sensitivity and better deep-water performance, and ships with a custom-fit, high-performance fairing block for uninterrupted performance even at speed.
The B258 is 25 times more sensitive than a single-element 50/200 kHz transducer. This 1 kW transducer makes 600W fishfinders perform like their more powerful big brothers, especially at 50 kHz. Its high-performance ceramic-element construction produces narrow beams that clearly distinguish individual fish and bottom fish from their habitat at depths down to 670 m (2200 ft).
Operating at 50 / 200 kHz with an elliptical beam pattern of 15° x 21° at 50 kHz and 3° x 5° at 200 kHz, the B258 records depth and temperature and suits hulls with a deadrise of 0 - 26°. Properly installed with its fairing block it produces clear images and a clean bottom trace at speeds over 30 knots (34 mph). The B258 uses a DSM-style connector and can be adapted to current sonar systems with an optional adapter cable.
