The Raymarine i60 Close Hauled Wind display magnifies the critical 20 to 60 degree wind angle range on a dedicated analogue gauge. It is a repeater instrument, taking wind data from a networked i60 Wind or an iTC-5 with masthead transducer. Ideal for racing and fast cruising where a single degree matters.

Description

The Raymarine i60 Close Hauled Wind display magnifies the wind angles that matter when sailing upwind, dedicating its analogue needle to a 20 to 60 degree range on each tack. When one degree of pointing makes the difference, the expanded scale is far easier to steer by than a standard wind gauge, while the LCD reports wind speed, maximum wind, VMG and tack angle.

The i60 Close Hauled Wind is a repeater instrument: it takes its wind data over SeaTalkng from a networked i60 Wind instrument, or from a masthead transducer connected through an iTC-5 converter, so it needs no masthead cabling of its own. Raymarine has now retired this model, making remaining stock the last of the line.

Red backlighting, group dimming and the shared 110 x 115 x 44 mm case match the rest of the i50 and i60 range. NMEA 2000 and SeaTalk 1 systems connect via adaptor cables.

What is the difference between the i60 Wind and the i60 Close Hauled Wind?
The i60 Wind shows the full 000 to 180 degree wind angle range and has a built in transducer interface for a masthead vane or Rotavecta sensor. The i60 Close Hauled Wind magnifies the 20 to 60 degree range and is a repeater, taking its wind data from a networked i60 Wind or an iTC-5 with masthead transducer.
Which wind transducers work with the i60 Wind?
The short arm masthead wind vane (E22078), the long arm masthead wind vane (E22079) and the Rotavecta rotating cup transducer (Z195).
Does the i60 show true wind as well as apparent wind?
Yes. The i60 Wind calculates both apparent (relative) and true wind speed and angle.
Can the i60 join an NMEA 2000 network?
Yes. The i60 is SeaTalkng native, and SeaTalkng is a proprietary extension of NMEA 2000. NMEA 2000 devices connect with a SeaTalkng to DeviceNet adaptor cable, and older SeaTalk 1 systems use the SeaTalk to SeaTalkng converter kit (E22158).
