Refund policy
At Hudson Marine Electronics we want you to be happy with what you buy. This policy explains your rights to cancel or return an order and how to do it. It sits alongside, and does not replace, your legal rights.

Your right to cancel (online and phone orders)
If you are a consumer buying online, by phone or by email, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days without giving a reason, under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
The cancellation period ends 14 days after the day you (or someone you nominate) receive the goods. Where an order is delivered in several consignments, the period ends 14 days after the day you receive the last item.
To cancel, tell us clearly before the 14 days are up. Email info@hudsonmarine.co.uk or call 023 8045 5129 with your order number. You can use the model cancellation form if you prefer, but you do not have to.
Returning the goods
After you cancel, please send the goods back to us within 14 days. You pay the cost of return postage. We recommend a tracked or insured service for anything of value, as you are responsible for the goods until they reach us and we cannot refund an item that does not arrive.
You may examine the goods as you would in a shop. If the goods have been handled more than was necessary to check their nature, characteristics and working, and their value is reduced as a result, we may deduct an amount from your refund to reflect that loss in value.

Refunds
Once you have cancelled within the 14-day period, we will refund the price you paid for the goods, together with the standard delivery cost of getting them to you. Please note:
- We refund the standard outbound delivery charge. If you chose a more expensive delivery option, we refund only up to the cost of our standard service.
- If you return only part of an order, the delivery charge is not refunded.
- We may reduce the refund to reflect any loss in the value of the goods caused by handling beyond what was necessary.
We make refunds to the original payment method. We will process your refund within 14 days of receiving the goods back, or from the day you give us proof that you have sent them back, whichever is sooner.
Faulty, damaged or incorrect items
Your rights here are separate from, and in addition to, the 14-day cancellation right above, and cannot be signed away.
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If they are not:
- Within 30 days of receiving the goods, you can reject them and ask for a full refund.
- After 30 days, you are entitled to a repair or replacement. If a repair or replacement is unsuccessful, or not possible, you can claim a refund (which may be reduced to reflect use after the first six months).
If an item arrives damaged or is not what you ordered, contact us within a reasonable time at info@hudsonmarine.co.uk with your order number and, where you can, a photo. We will arrange collection or cover the cost of return for faulty, damaged or incorrect items, and put it right. You will not be out of pocket on return postage for a fault that is our or the manufacturer's responsibility.
For products still under manufacturer warranty, or for repairs and extended cover, see our Warranty & Repairs page. We are an authorised dealer for the brands we sell and can often handle a warranty claim or repair for you.
Items that cannot be returned for change of mind
The 14-day cancellation right does not apply to certain items, including:
- Products made or cut to your specification, or personalised for you (for example, cut-to-length cable and made-to-order items).
- Sealed software, chart cards or media that you have unsealed after delivery.
- Gift cards.
This does not affect your rights if any of these items is faulty, not as described, or not fit for purpose.
Products that have been installed or fitted to a vessel can rarely be returned to an as-new condition, so for change-of-mind returns a deduction for loss of value is likely to apply. This does not limit your rights if the product is faulty.
Business and trade orders
These terms are written for consumers. Orders placed by businesses, or for trade accounts, may be subject to our separate business terms, and the statutory cancellation right above may not apply.
Your statutory rights
Nothing in this policy affects your legal rights as a consumer.
