Description

The IX8 thermal monitoring camera gives owners, engineers and crew early warning of overheating equipment on board or in other hazardous environments. Pointed at engines, exhaust manifolds, electrical cabinets, shaft bearings or switchgear, it watches for rising temperature before a fault becomes a failure. Beyond the marine deck it suits data centre and control-room monitoring, electrical enclosures and manufacturing lines, and can act as a presence detector for protected areas.

Two sensors work together: an uncooled 256 x 192 thermal detector with better than 65mK sensitivity, scalable up to 704 x 576, alongside a 1/2.8 inch Sony 1920 x 1080 visible camera with 16x digital zoom. Multiple temperature-measurement rules, including temperature increase and comparison, drive alarms over IP and via contact closure, supported by motion detection and object-left and object-removed analytics, so the camera complements both a security system and a fire-safety system.

The housing is cast from toughened aluminium, anodised and protectively coated, then nitrogen sealed and rated to IP66 for reliable operation in wet and demanding conditions.

What does a dual-sensor temperature measurement camera do?
The IX8 combines a 256 x 192 thermal detector with a 1920 x 1080 visible camera. It measures the temperature of equipment in view using configurable rules and raises alarms when readings rise or exceed a threshold, helping detect overheating before it becomes a failure.
What can it monitor?
Typical targets are engines, exhaust manifolds, electrical cabinets, shaft bearings and switchgear on board, as well as data centres, control rooms and manufacturing lines ashore. It can also act as a presence detector for protected areas.
How does it raise an alarm?
Alarms are available both over IP and via a contact-closure (relay) output, driven by temperature rules, motion detection and object-left or object-removed analytics, so it can complement both security and fire-safety systems.
Is it suitable for harsh, wet environments?
Yes. The housing is cast from toughened aluminium, anodised and protectively coated, then nitrogen sealed and rated to IP66.
