Description

The Victron Energy AGM Super Cycle is a 12V 125Ah valve-regulated lead-acid (VRLA) battery designed for cyclic use. Improved positive-plate paste and electrolyte additives make the cells far more tolerant of deep discharge, so the battery withstands repeated heavy cycling that would quickly damage a conventional AGM.

Victron recommends the Super Cycle range where an occasional discharge to 100% depth of discharge, or frequent discharge to 60-80% DoD, is expected. A 550A cold-cranking rating and low internal resistance suit this 125Ah size to larger house banks and dual-purpose service and starting duty.

As a sealed, maintenance-free AGM, it can be mounted in most orientations and needs no topping up, making it a dependable house bank for marine and leisure installations.

How is the Super Cycle different from a standard AGM battery?
The positive-plate paste is less sensitive to softening and the electrolyte has additives that reduce sulfation, so the battery tolerates repeated deep discharge much better than a standard AGM. Victron quotes at least 300 cycles at 100% depth of discharge.
How deeply can I discharge this battery?
Victron recommends the Super Cycle for applications with an occasional discharge to 100% depth of discharge, or frequent discharge to 60-80% DoD. Cycle life is about 700 cycles at 60% DoD and about 1000 cycles at 40% DoD.
Can this battery start an engine?
Yes. This size carries a cold-cranking rating of 550A and a reserve capacity of 220 minutes, so it suits both deep-cycle house duty and engine starting.
What charge voltages should I use?
For normal cycle service Victron specifies an absorption voltage of 14.2 to 14.6 V and a float voltage of 13.5 to 13.8 V, with a storage voltage of 13.2 to 13.5 V. Temperature compensation of -24 mV/°C is recommended for a 12V battery.
What is the rated capacity?
This model is rated 125Ah at the 20-hour discharge rate to 10.8 V. At the shorter rates it gives 114Ah at C10 and 105Ah at C5.
