Description
The Victron Current Transformer 100A:50mA is an external AC current sensor for the MultiPlus-II (and MultiGrid-II) inverter/charger. Clamped around the incoming AC feed, it measures how much current the installation is drawing so the inverter/charger can manage that supply intelligently, without needing a separate energy meter on the grid connection.
With this external sensing in place the MultiPlus-II can use PowerControl to cap the current it draws from a limited shore or generator supply, and PowerAssist to boost that supply from the battery when a heavy load would otherwise trip the breaker. It also enables optimised self-consumption, so stored solar or battery energy is used before importing from the grid. The transformer has a 100A primary to 50mA secondary ratio and, on this CTR11 model, terminates in a jack connector for a plug-in connection to the inverter/charger.
This version is supplied with a 20 metre cable for installations where the current transformer sits well away from the MultiPlus-II. It is functionally identical to the 1 metre and 5 metre versions, which differ only in cable length; choose the length that best suits your installation.
