Description
The Garmin 1.2 Litre Autopilot Pump Kit is the hydraulic drive that allows a Garmin GHP or Reactor autopilot to steer a boat fitted with hydraulic steering, sized for smaller hydraulic systems. The pump interacts with the existing steering, responding to commands from the autopilot ECU, and is selected to match the size and type of steering on the vessel.
It is designed for balanced-cylinder steering systems and can be adapted to an unbalanced cylinder using the optional unbalanced valve kit. Two sets of hose-connector fittings give flexibility when plumbing the pump into single-helm, dual-helm and power-assist layouts, and an integral shutoff valve lets the pump be isolated and removed for service without disconnecting the hydraulic lines or losing manual steering. The pump should be mounted within 0.5 m of the autopilot ECU, either horizontally or vertically with the connectors facing up, and treated periodically with a marine corrosion inhibitor.
