Garmin Airmar DST810 Smart Transducer

010-11051-20
The DST810 is a plastic thru-hull NMEA 2000 smart transducer that combines precise depth, speed and water temperature with attitude sensing for heel/trim and pitch/roll. Its Gen2 paddlewheel and Bluetooth Airmar CAST app calibration deliver class-leading speed-through-water performance.

Description

The Garmin AIRMAR DST810 is a plastic thru-hull NMEA 2000 smart multisensor that brings depth, speed through water, water temperature and boat attitude together in a single low-profile housing. It reads depths to 100 m (330 ft) and outputs fast 5.7 Hz speed data for smoother, more responsive readings on a compatible chartplotter or instrument display.

At its heart is Airmar's Gen2 paddlewheel, which delivers start-up speed from as low as 0.3 knots, becomes linear at 0.6 knots and stays accurate up to 45 knots. An integrated attitude sensor adds heel/trim and pitch/roll data, while Bluetooth Low Energy connectivity links the sensor to the free Airmar CAST app for intuitive, heel-compensated speed calibration. The 235 kHz frequency helps prevent interference with other onboard echosounders, and the wide 10 x 44 degree beam holds bottom lock even on steep deadrise hulls and heeling sailboats.

What data does the DST810 measure?
It measures water depth, speed through water and water temperature, and includes an integrated attitude sensor that reports heel/trim and pitch/roll data over the NMEA 2000 network.
How does the Airmar CAST app work with the DST810?
The DST810 connects wirelessly over Bluetooth Low Energy (up to about 30 feet depending on mounting) to the free Airmar CAST app, which lets you calibrate speed through water, including heel-compensated calibration at multiple heel angles, without expensive PC software.
What is the maximum depth and speed range?
The DST810 reads depths up to 100 m (330 ft) on NMEA 2000 and reports speed through water from as low as 0.3 knots up to 45 knots, with the Gen2 paddlewheel becoming linear at 0.6 knots.
What hull types is it suitable for?
The low-profile plastic thru-hull housing fits hull deadrise up to 22 degrees, and the wide 10 x 44 degree beam helps hold bottom lock on steep deadrise hulls and heeling sailboats.
What is the NMEA 2000 load equivalency number?
The DST810 has a NMEA 2000 Load Equivalency Number (LEN) of 3 and is supplied with a 6 m (20 ft) DeviceNet drop cable.
